I like to call this...

The Best Cake Ever!

It's real name is
Bete Noire
but I think my name

Bete Noire

1/2 cup water
1 1/3 cup sugar
8 oz unsweetened chocolate, chopped
4 oz semi sweet chocolate, chopped
1 cup butter, room temp., cut into 4 pieces
5 eggs, room temp.

1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Line round cake pan with wax paper and spray with baking spray.

3. On high heat, bring 1 cup sugar and water to a rolling boil in a sauce pan.

4. Turn off heat and add the chocolate. Stir until fully melted.

5. Add the butter, piece by piece, stirring until melted.

6. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and the rest of the sugar (1/3 cup) until airy.

7. Fold the egg mixture into the chocolate.

8. Pour into your pan lined with wax paper.

9. Place the cake pan in a larger pan that is filled with water (about an inch of water). Bake for 30 minutes.

10. Immediately invert onto your cake dish once taken out of the oven.

11. Let cool one hour, dust with powder sugar...then serve!
